This project was created during a course called, d.Studio, one of the courses under SAIC's Visual Communication Design department. The course collaborates with SAIC's Marketing and Graphics department, where students get the opportunity to work with internal clients in a professional setting on real-world design projects.
November of each year, SAIC Campus Life and Student Association host the annual Holiday Art Sale in the historic MacLean Center Ballroom. This highly anticipated two-day event gives currently enrolled students the opportunity to showcase and sell their original creations to the public.
A coherent, compelling promotional campaign is integral to the event's success.
The design and application is distinctive, highly memorable short-term visual identity to a broad range of print and digital communications material to promote the 28th annual Holiday Art Sale 2016.
This design is approached in an abstract style to deliver expressive marks, not only to demonstrate the characteristics of SAIC, but also to suggest diversity and excitement of the community through a mixture of textural backgrounds with vibrant colors.
